On the past Super Bowl Sunday, my wife, Sarah, asked me who I was rooting for. I replied honestly, “I don’t care who wins. I have no connection to either team.”
I love watching football, especially the NFL, but I do not get emotional when I’m watching any team except the Bears. I am a 54-year-old man, and I still get emotional while watching the Bears play.
Hearing me yell and swear while watching the Bears, happens at every one of their games. While I watch any other team, you’d think I was at church…quiet as a mouse.
I have friends that splurge and will go to the Super Bowl every year. They are football fans and could get into any Super Bowl game no matter what team is playing.
The only time I could see myself splurging on the Super Bowl is if the Bears ever make it to the championship.
