New Phone

This year Finn got his first cell phone. I was very resistant to him getting a cell phone. I see these teenagers in a room and none of them are talking, they are communicating by text on their cell phones. I find that weird. My teenage nieces told me the reason they are texting while in the same room is because they want to communicate something that they don’t want the adults to hear. Another thing that bothered me about the cell phone was the unlimited access to the internet. Once I found out that I could block sites that are not age appropriate, I was ok with the cell phone.

Since getting a cell phone, Finn’s social life has exploded. The number of his friends coming in and out of the house, and Finn hanging with boys outside of the house has been exponentially more since he got a cell phone. This is something that I never expected when we decided to give him a phone. A lot of things that we do in life are unforeseen until we experience it in real time. Dentistry is no different.
