My Writing Routine

I’ve been writing these blogs for about 8 years now. I have a system.

Something happens to me in my everyday life and I will write about it. Then I’ll try to find a connection with that everyday life event and dentistry.

On a good day, if there is flow, I will think of what I’m going to write, organize it in my head and then I can tie it to dentistry. That is usually not the case.

Normally, I will write something that happened to me and then come back to it, so it can percolate in my mind.

Getting started is the hardest thing. The only thing that gets me out of being stuck, is action.

If I worry about not having a good idea or nothing to write about, this will give me more anxiety.

The second I begin having writer’s block…I just start writing something. Anything. Then that will get the brain flowing and things begin to appear on the page.

Last week, I was only able to write one story. The computer that I have used for my stories for 8 years broke. Every single story that I’ve written, hundreds at this point, was written on this computer. It is still being repaired, and I had to find a new computer to write this week’s stories.

I know that if I waited for my computer to be repaired, that I could get out of the habit of writing my stories. One week could have easily turned into several weeks or even longer.

This happens to a lot of people when they move to a new location. People are moving in and out of Chicago all the time. They move for jobs all over the country.

Once they move into a city, their first objective is to find a place to live. Then they need to get used to their new job.

Finding a dentist is the last thing on their mind.

They are just thinking about getting used to their new surroundings, which can sometimes take years.

Many people don’t know how to find a dentist they will like. A lot of them will go on Yelp and read reviews of people they do not know.

I believe the best way to find a dentist is through friends and family. More than likely if you like the dentist’s office, then they will like them.

If you have any new coworkers or a friend that just relocated here, let them know you have the right dentist for them and to let you know when they are ready to go. Then let them know to visit us at mydente.com or call us 773-292-1911.
